It was in 2018 that Kanye West unveiled the first edition of the 'Yeezy slipper'. This happened while Kanye was wearing the slides to a wedding. Pictures of this went viral as it looked like the slippers were way too small and badly fitted. Ye responded to the criticism by saying that this was the 'Japanese way' of wearing the slippers and that your foot should hang over the back of the slipper by one to two centimetres.

It's built from a blend of harvested algae and lightweight EVA foam. The Yeezy Slide is constructed from EVA foam. (EVA is ethylene-vinyl acetate, a soft synthetic foam material used for cushioning many sneakers.)
